SJCS hosted the SVD Mission Awards last January 29, 2010, Friday, at the Fr. Peter Yang Hall. The day coincided with the Feast of St. Joseph Freinademetz, one of two SVD saints.
SVD, or the Societas Verbi Divini is popularly knows as the Society of the Divine Word. SVD Philippines and SJCS launched a nationwide search for individuals and groups who have contributed to the mission of the SVD and the Church in the Philippines. This is part of the SVD Centennial celebrations.

Truffled Mac 'n Cheese is one of those dishes du jour that seems to be on every restaurant menu nowadays. I like truffles. I like macaroni. I like cheese. This is the best I've had so far-- better than Lusso and Mr. Jones. The top was gratinated but not dry. The pasta was al dente and substantial. But it's the cheese of course that makes the dish. The menu said that they use five (!) cheeses, so how can you go wrong with that?

While reading the Judenites gazette, have you ever wondered who its first editor-in-chief was? During graduation, as you look up to the awardees of your batch, have you ever pondered upon who the first valedictorian of St. Jude Catholic School was? As you admire great leaders in your batch, wouldn’t it also be interesting to find out who the first few leaders of the school’s student council were? Have you ever even thought about how the SJCSAA was established and who its first longest-serving president was? These questions require many firsts, and interestingly, there is one Judenite who embodies it all. She is Betty Dante Aw – certainly one of the most notable achievers of our alma mater’s first batch of graduates from 1973.
